Hear and share stories of how our experiences with home vigils, family-directed death care, and green disposition have touched our lives. The April MTN Twin Cities event is a storytelling night cohosted by Word Sprout!

A few MTN members will come with prepared stories. An open mic time will follow. You’re invited to bring your five-minute story of your experiences as a death doula, vigil-sitter, green-burier, or other ways death has touched your life.

Twin Cities January Meeting: Sharing Our Stories

We have had rich meetings this fall when we shared our favorite books about death and dying, stories around the pre-death vigil, and poetry, painting and songs that have been meaningful.

Now we invite you to an evening when we have time………to hear your stories.  Here you have an audience of open hearts. What has been your personal experience with death? How has that changed your life or shaped your current thoughts, wishes, or plans for the end of your life or that of your friends or family? As we listen to others’ stories, we better remember our own. And as we share our stories, we give a gift to the listener. So bring a story or come to be a listener. And you will be enriched.

MEETING ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 12, 2016, 7-9pm at the home of  MARIANNE DIETZEL, 2954 HAMLINE AVE.N., ROSEVILLE, MN (one mile north of Hwy. 36, mailbox at end of driveway has an orange flag on it), 651-633-0432.

May 12 Twin Cities Meeting: Recent Home Vigils

Kari Olson will share the story of her 26-year-old son Morgan, who died of metastatic melanoma in December 2013. During Hospice and the 3-day vigil, friends and family surrounded Morgan, and Kari had the opportunity to explain home vigils to many young people who had not experienced them before. Community members, including MTN, lent support.
